Independent visitor experience audits for golf clubs
I turn up and experience your golf club exactly as a first-time visitor does. Then I show you what you’re doing brilliantly, what’s quietly costing you repeat business, and what I’d change.

The problem
It happens to every club. You walk past the same faded sign every day and, after a while, it just disappears. A first-time visitor sees everything:
Those little details decide whether a visitor comes back, recommends you to their mates, or writes a quiet one-star review. Agronomy reports tell you about the greens. This is about the day: how it feels to find you, book, arrive, play and leave.

How it works
Book · Visit · Report · Revisit. That’s the whole round.
We agree a date. You provide a visitor round (green fee covered by the club). I book and arrive as an ordinary first-time visitor, unannounced to your front-line team.
I follow the full journey: finding you online, driving in, parking, the pro-shop welcome, practice area, all eighteen holes, the halfway house and the clubhouse afterwards. Notes and photos throughout.
You get a professional written report with a Golf Club Visitor Experience Score out of 100, what you’re doing brilliantly, and ten things I’d change, split into quick wins, medium-term and larger investments.
An optional six-month revisit to measure progress against the original score and recommendations. Same method, fresh eyes.
The score
Each area is scored out of 10, then weighted. The result is a Golf Club Visitor Experience Score that shows where the day shines, and where it quietly loses visitors.

Entrance, signage, car park, first impression and knowing where to go.
Pro shop and reception, friendliness, information given and retail presentation.
Practice area, first tee, course presentation, on-course signage, toilets, halfway house and pace of play.
Atmosphere, cleanliness, changing rooms, food and drink, service and visitor friendliness.
Value for money, memorable features, weaknesses and likelihood to recommend.
What you get
Every audit ends with a professional written report, not a vague chat over coffee in the bar. You’ll get a clear score, evidence-backed findings and a practical list of improvements.

FAQ
Yes. I book and play as an ordinary visitor, so your front-line team won’t know I’m auditing on the day. You (management) know the visit is happening; they don’t need to.
No. This is a golfer’s-eye visitor experience audit: how the day feels from the first web search to the drive home. The course is assessed for presentation and playability as a visitor experiences it, not for technical turf science or greenkeeping advice.
I’m based in Newport, Shropshire, and starting with clubs in easy reach. The plan is to go national as the service grows. If you’re further afield, get in touch, as travel can be arranged.
You’ll typically receive the written report within two weeks of the visit. Timing can be confirmed when we book.
The club provides the visitor round (green fee). That keeps the visit authentic: I’m playing exactly as a paying guest would.
About
I’m Gerard (Gez) Anslow, and I run The Visiting Golfer from Newport, Shropshire.
Too many clubs stop seeing what makes them appealing to a visitor: the drive in, the chat with the pro, the condition of the course. I visit as a golfer, independent of any club, and show you what a first-time visitor really notices.
